Hike & Hygge

Experience Stevns Klint UNESCO site and many other attraction along the stomping trail. The hike is typically 6 km - but it can be longer og shorter.
This nature experience is great for adults who like outdoor experience in unique landscape.

UNESCO site

Stevns Klint is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Denmark because it preserves the evidence of Earth’s fifth mass extinction.

Stunning views

The trail offers wide, open views where the white cliff meets the Baltic Sea and a sky that feels endlessly tall. It’s the kind of scenery that quietly slows you down.

Hygge

The walk is calm and unhurried and we have breaks on the way. Those simple pauses and easy moments are where the Danish hygge really settles in.

Attractions

Along the trail we explore the cliff-edge church, Cold War history and Boesdal’s striking limestone quarry

Walking the Stevns Klint Stomping Trail gives you views of sea, sky, and 66 million years of history. The path winds along the edge of the white cliff. It’s one of those rare walks where the landscape keeps surprising you, step after step.

The Stevns Klint stomping trail is 22 kilometers. The terrain is flat, but uneven.

My guest usually prefer to hike either 6 or 8 km. I tailor the hike according to your wishes.

This is included on a 6 km Hike & Hygge tour

This hike usually takes 4-5 hours. That leaves time for both stories, hiking, photography, refreshments, lunch and hygge.

The fifth mass extinction and the fish clay

At Højerup the tour begins with the dramatic story about the asteroid and I will show you the fish clay.

Højerup Old Church

I will tell you another dramatic story about the church, which has partly fallen off the cliff.

Hiking

Hereafter, we start hiking along the cliff back to Rødvig. There are plenty of stunning views over the cliffs, sea and fields, and you can ask me any questions you may have about Denmark. If you like, we could talk about Danish “hygge” and why Denmark is one of the happiest countries in the world. Or are we?

We have lunch on the way. We can eat at a café or the guide can bring sandwiches for everyone.

Stevns Fortress

We will pass FORT, an underground fortress built within the Klint. The fortress was built in the age of the cold war. It was the first line of defence if war had broken out between the East and the West. I will tell you about the fortress and some funny anecdotes, but we will not enter the fortress.

Boesdal Quarry

Next stop is the the old limestone quarry with its mysterious landscape and huge “pyramid”.

Rødvig

Back in Rødvig we experience the charming harbour and I show you the best places to eat, swim and shop local art and handcrafts, which you can do on your own after the tour has ended.

We had lots of fun hiking with Anne. The Stevns Klint Trampesti should be on the radar of everyone visiting Zealand. Anne’s tour not only provides in-depth knowledge about the area but also tailors to our needs, from transportation to lunch options. Thank you so much for being such an awesome guide, Anne!

My tours blend scientific insight with human experience, creating moments that spark curiosity and help guests feel truly connected to the nature around them.

FAQ

Can we customise our tour?

Yes.
All tours are private, and I design the experience around your interests — geology, hiking, photography, food, family activities or simply a peaceful walk in nature.
Tell me what you love, and I adjust the route accordingly.

What does a private tour cost?

There are no fixed prices on my private tours as it depends on several conditions. These are:

  • How many participants you are
  • How many hours you want the tour to last
  • Whether you will like refreshments or catering
  • Whether you have particular wishes for the content of the tour which I need to spend extra time preparing
  • Whether you need transport

When we have talked or written together about your private tour, I will return as soon as possible with a written offer, in which I describe the tour and its price.

How long is the tour, and how difficult is the terrain?

Most guests choose between:
• The short UNESCO tour — 1 to 1.5 hours
• The Hike, Highlights & Hygge tour — half day
• Custom hikes — 1 to 8 hours

The terrain is generally easy to moderate. Paths can be uneven in some areas, but no special skills are required. I adapt the pace and route to your needs.

Stevns Klint trampesti

How many persons can participate?

It is important to me that I have a good contact with each participant and everyone can hear what I say. I can therefore have a maximum of 30 people on the tour or hike.

Typically the private tours are for a few people – for instance couples or families.

Is the tour suitable for children and families?

Yes — absolutely.
If your family is used to hiking, you’ll all enjoy the Stevns Klint Stomping Trail. The route is fairly easy, as the terrain is flat, and I tailor the tour to the distance you prefer. The only thing to keep in mind is that children must be old enough to understand that they shouldn’t go near the cliff edge, as it can be dangerous.

How do we pay?

When accepting the written offer Klintetours will email you an invoice which can be paid as a bank transfer or you can pay by Paypal.

How do we get to Stevns Klint?

Stevns Klint is easy to reach.

go to Stevns on a day trip on Zealand1 hour by car

From Copenhagen it takes one hour by car, which makes it a perfect day trip from Copenhagen.

1,5 hour by train

If you wish to use public transportation, it takes about 1,5 hour from Copenhagen central station to Rødvig. I can help you by sending you a timetable for the trains. I recommend you to buy the City Pass x-large ticket for the public transportation, since it covers all trains and busses, you will need for your day trip at Sealand.

Click here to read more about the City Pass

If we have a tour that starts at Højerup, I help you out with the transportation from Rødvig to Højerup.

Can we collect fossils? Is it allowed?

Yes — you can collect small fossils in designated areas of Stevns Klint, and I will guide you so we protect the World Heritage Site while exploring it.

There are a few simple rules to follow:

  • Never chip into the cliff itself, only into fallen blocks
  • Never disturb the protected fish clay layer
  • At Højerup, tools are not allowed — you may only pick up what lies loose on the beach.

I explain what you may collect, how to do it responsibly, and I help you identify your finds along the way.

What should we wear and bring?

Wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes suitable for the Danish weather (it can change quickly).
Bring water, sunscreen and sunglasses in summer and an extra layer in cooler months.
I provide all necessary information before the tour.

Will the tour be completed regardless of the weather?

The tours are completed even when it is raining. Put on sensible clothes and shoes.

However, trips are canceled when it can be very uncomfortable or dangerous to complete, for example with weather forecasts that report cloudbursts, heavy all-day rain or heavy thunderstorms.

It is Klintetours that assesses whether the trip can be completed in relation to the weather.

If the trip is canceled due to the weather, this will be notified to you as soon as possible and you will get your money back.

What about illness?

Klintetours is a one-woman company, and if the guide Anne Rosell Holt is ill on the day, the trip will be canceled as there are no substitute guides.

What if we have to cancel?

In case of cancellation less than 14 days before the trip: The entire price of the trip is paid with the exception of any meals that have not yet been purchased or that can be canceled.

In case of cancellation more than 15 days before the trip: The price of the trip is refunded with the exception of DKr 300 in processing fees.
